What is an Active School?

The Active School Flag is a department of Education and Skills initiative which seeks to recognise schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. St. Johns N.S is a very active school and we are hoping to get our Active School Flag this year. We are having our Active School Week from 29th of April to the 3rd of May. Everyone is really looking forward to this week as we will get to try out lots of different sports and fun activities. The teachers and our Active School Committee have organised lots of fun activities for us. These included circuits in the hall, walk a mile with a  smile, a teddy bears picnic, novelty races, a penalty shoot out, GAA training, a talk on Water Safety, Skipping games, hula hoop games and much more! We will also be encouraging all pupils to take part in W.O.W and C.O.W. (walk on Wednesday/ cycle on Wednesday)
