
Conradh na Gaeilge founded the festival in the year 1902 to promote the Irish language in Ireland and around the world. Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia is the biggest Irish language festival both in Ireland and across the globe. The festival has gone from strength to strength and now it is 17 days long. The dates are the same every year and the festival runs from the 1st to the 17th of March. The festival begins with an official launch.
Energia has been a sponsor of the festival since 2017. 'Úsáid do Theanga' was the motto of the festival in 2020 and the festival is suitable for people of all levels of ability in Irish.
There are events all around Ireland and around the world such as competitions, céilís, conversation circles, concerts and historical tours. In St. John's Mr. Gallagher organises numberous activities take place including -
